If the end of summer sneaked up on you the way it did us, you might be scrambling for some last-minute family plans. If that's the case, Bass Pro Shops will keep the summer smiles on your family's faces with a weekend event to celebrate summer. They're calling it their "Hometown Festival," and it will be held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 5 and 6 from noon to 5 p.m. at Bass Pro Shops stores across the U.S. and Canada.  Not only will there be plenty of free activities like face painting, ring toss and craft stations, attendees will also have the chance to win a vintage Bass Tracker package.  With a total value of $15,495, the package includes a 2016 Pro 170 vintage Bass Tracker, Lowrance Elite-3x color fish finder, Minn Kota trolling motor, Mercury 40 horsepower ELP FourStroke and custom Bass Tracker trailer with 13 inch wheels. They're calling it the Throwback Sweeptstakes, and it's a once-in-a-lifetime chance. (Visit basspro.com/throwback for more information and to enter the Throwback Sweepstakes.) Additionally, according to Katie Mitchell, Bass Pro Shops' communications manager, "the Hometown Festival also includes great deals on gear for hunting, fishing, camping, outdoor cooking and more."

Of course, no party is complete without food, so Bass Pro Shops is continuing the celebration with the following free food samples on Sept. 5 and 6:

1 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Hot dogs and Flossie's Funnel Cake samples
2 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Dutch oven apple cobbler samples

Plus, Bass Pro Shops customers and NASCAR fans can cheer on Bass Pro Shops sponsored driver Tony Stewart as he drives the Throwback Bass Pro Shops/Mobile 1 Chevrolet SS at Darlington Raceway September 6 during The Tradition Returns Weekend. The Throwback car will feature a retro paint scheme and vintage Bass Pro Shops and Tracker Boats logos.
