Now here's the kind of "judicial activism" that we can get behind. When Taurus introduced its original Judge nearly 20 years ago, shooters and self-defenders were thrilled at the chance to own a big-bore revolver that could be loaded with their choice of .45 Colt or .410 bore shotshells. This powerful, versatile revolver quickly spawned several next-generation models, and one of the most popular was the Raging Judge, which also permits the .454 Casull chambering. (That's a caliber considered powerful enough for both black and grizzly bears!)
After a while, production stopped ... but shooters never stopped asking for it to return. Taurus listened, and now it's back ... but not forever.
This powerful and versatile wheelgun is a limited-production model dubbed the Raging Judge 513. Just like the original run, it's chambered in .45 Colt / 3" .410 Bore / .454 Casull. It offers a six-round capacity, and is fashioned in stainless steel. Weighing in at 61 ounces with an overall length of 10.2", the Raging Judge is a bit on the large side for concealed carry. Where this firearm shines as a backwoods defensive tool or for home defense.
Purpose-built for those who demand flexibility and stopping power in a durable, heavy-duty revolver, its stainless steel construction features a matte finish paired with a rubber grip that boasts a distinctive red cushioned insert. Paired with that extra stainless-steel weight, the revolver's grip helps reduce the recoil of the powerful rounds it fires. At the time of this writing, we're not aware of how long the Raging Judge will be in session. MSRP $1,215.99; TaurusUSA.com.
