Savage Arms has a surprise for families attending the 2018 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Dallas, Texas: a brand-new Rascal for the "little rascal" in your family...and it's well-schooled in using its "inside voice." By which we mean that these perfect little training rifles now have four new models that come complete with suppressor-ready threaded barrels.

Vista Outdoors' J.J. Reich explained that each and every feature of this gun was designed with safety in mind. Like the other Rascals, these diminutive single-shot, bolt-action firearms offer redundant safety mechanisms, an adjustable AccuTrigger and the ability to unload the gun without having to depress the trigger. For example, while you're still working with your child on trigger discipline, you can adjust the AccuTrigger to a relatively heavy 6-pound trigger pull. Then, once your child has proven that she or he won't put their finger on the trigger until they're on target, you can re-adjust the trigger back down to a crisp, 3-pound weight.

These little rifles are also purpose-built to offer newest shooters not only their first taste of firearms safety, but also their first taste of accuracy. The heavy barrel and easy trigger give the gun incredible on-target success, and, with a suppressor attached, it allows you to train your child on the basics without having to deal with the report of the firearm (a potential obstacle for the newest shooters).

These .22-caliber suppressor-ready rifles are available now in black, pink and a target model that comes with its own bipod and scope; all of them for an MSRP comparable to the rest of the Savage Rascal family ($300 and less).
