It makes perfect sense when you think about it: The lever-action may be an old-school kind of repeater, but it offers remarkably quick follow-up shots—certainly just as rapid or even more so than a bolt-action rifle. They tend to be light, nimble and not overly long, making them terrific for home defense. They're also versatile; in the right chambering, your defensive lever gun can absolutely double as a hunting gun.
