As part of NRA's Education and Training (E&T) Division's efforts to modernize NRA training materials, we have updated the NRA Pistol Wall Charts used for training aids to support the Instructor Led and Blended Pistol courses. The former Pistol Wall Charts, several of which were very dated, consisted of black-and-white sketches and photos. The updated Pistol Wall Charts are designed with high resolution color photos, digital images, and use current nomenclature.
For consistency and convenience, the same number (7) of charts and chart size (29” x 17”) are retained and include the following: Three Rules for Safe Gun Handling, Pistol Nomenclature (Double-Action Revolver, Semi-Automatic Pistol), Cartridge Components/Firing Sequence, Sight Alignment/Picture and Adjustment, Gripping the Pistol (Revolver, Semi-Automatic Pistol), Trigger Press/Follow-Through, and Pistol Shooting Positions (Benchrest, One-Handed Standing, Two-Handed Standing).
The figure below shows a comparison between one of the Pistol Wall Charts. The updated Pistol Wall Charts are expected to be available from the NRA Program Materials Center for around $15 by November 2025. New wall charts are in the works for other shooting disciplines, as well. Please contact NRA E&T Curriculum Coordinator Richard Clement, [email protected], with questions.
