Hornady Hit Target Lede

Working on your long-distance precision shooting? There's nothing better than instant feedback from your target to make shooting enjoyable, but reactive targets offer other benefits. Both beginning shooters and seasoned experts can gain a better understanding of their shot process if they don't have to wait until they get downrange to see how they've done. Hornady has just announced a new way to make all targets reactive targets: the HIT Target Impact Indicator.

This new-for-2024 gadget delivers vivid light signals bullet impact on distant steel targets, providing ultra-bright visibility up to 1000+ yards with the naked eye. The HIT Impact Indicator features a sensitive accelerometer that detects bullet vibrations for precise activation, regardless of caliber. When a hit is registered, the HIT Indicator communicates impacts in style by blinking "H-I-T" in Morse code--how cool is that?

Set-up for the HIT Impact Indicator is simple, and recharging even simpler. The HIT Impact Indicator doesn't actually attach to the target itself, but to the target stand. There's an easy-to-use elastic band that comes included ... that's all you need. Because it uses a micro-USB rechargeable battery, you can conveniently recharge it in your vehicle or at the range—no need to worry about running out of batteries. MSRP $17.99; Hornady.com.
