The Conservation Federation of Missouri (CFM) is proud to announce a strengthened partnership with the NRA Hunters’ Leadership Forum (HLF) and the NRA Foundation through a generous $30,000 donation supporting Share the Harvest and the Snack Stick Program. This contribution significantly enhances the program’s ability to provide high-quality venison to food-insecure families across Missouri while also promoting responsible conservation efforts.

Share the Harvest facilitates venison donations from hunters to local food banks through approved meat processors. With the support of this donation, the program has expanded its reach, allowing even more hunters to participate and provide nutritious, high-protein meals to families in need. The funding also bolsters the Snack Stick Program, which processes venison into convenient, protein-rich snacks, further increasing accessibility for those facing food insecurity.

“This generous contribution from the NRA Hunters’ Leadership Forum and the NRA Foundation is a testament to the power of collaboration in conservation and hunger relief,” said Tyler Schwartze, Executive Director of the Conservation Federation of Missouri. “Through their support, we can connect more hunters with families in need while also helping to manage Missouri’s deer population. This partnership, along with Peter Churchbourne’s strong leadership and collaboration, continues to yield meaningful results for our communities.”

“We are very honored and proud to be a part of the Conservation Federation of Missouri’s network to help with their important initiative,” said Peter Churchbourne, Managing Director of the NRA Hunters’ Leadership Forum. “I want to thank all the HLF donors that have made these funds available so we can support these worthy efforts, and also thank all the hunters that donated their harvest to help close the circle.”

Hunters can easily participate in Share the Harvest by taking their deer to any participating processor and choosing how much venison to donate. With the additional support from the NRA HLF and the NRA Foundation, the program has reached new heights, ensuring that even more Missourians benefit from this vital initiative.

Since its inception in 1992, Share the Harvest has provided nearly 5 million pounds of venison to families in need, thanks to the dedication of hunters and partnerships with organizations like Feeding Missouri and the Missouri Department of Conservation. This latest donation underscores the shared commitment of CFM and the NRA HLF and Foundation to making a tangible impact across the state.
