Next year, Beretta will celebrate its 500th anniversary. No, that is not a misprint ... Beretta's recorded history dates back to 1526, and it has been owned by the Beretta family all that time. In the light of that massive accomplishment, it's a little too easy to forget the more recent history of Beretta firearms, most notably the 90 series of pistols. Those iconic pistols are celebrating their 50th birthday, and Beretta is marking the occasion with the launch of the 92SB Reproduction 50th Anniversary Edition.
This faithful, limited-edition recreation of the third production model in the iconic lineup, the 92SB Reproduction celebrates the heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation that have defined Beretta sidearms for generations. The 90 series has seen use in foreign and domestic militaries, law enforcement, and of course, civilians. The 92SB Reproduction pays homage to this milestone with period-correct styling and modern performance enhancements, designed for collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate the intersection of tradition and precision.
First introduced in the early 1980s, the original 92SB marked a pivotal evolution in the 90 Series. Its all-metal components mean enhanced durability, and it features precision-machined G10 grips. A short reset trigger bar enhances speed and control, and the pistol wears a polished anodized frame, polished blued slide and barrel, rounded trigger guard, and a flat dust cover.
“The 90 Series is one of the most recognized and respected handgun platforms in the world,” said Broxton Carlile, Beretta USA Pistol Product Manager. “With the 92SB Reproduction, we’re honoring the legacy of Italian craftsmanship and the pivotal model that bridged Beretta’s early 92 design to the military-adopted 92F. It’s a true collector’s piece that reflects both our history and our commitment to quality.”
The 92SB Reproduction arrives in a bespoke collector's case, and comes with two 15-round magazines as well as a historical booklet detailing the legacy of the 90 series. In accordance with the earliest recorded Beretta sale in 1526, only 1,526 92SB Reproductions will be produced. The MSRP is ... wait for it ... $1,526. Beretta.com.
