Smith Wesson Metal Lede

When gun manufacturers first began venturing into the world of polymer construction, many gun enthusiasts responded with a wry comment or two about "plastic furniture." Polymer is as popular as Top 40 these days, and everyone understands its benefits ... but some of us still prefer the weight, feel and recoil reduction of heavy metal. If you're among that number, you'll be excited to learn about Smith & Wesson's first full-size M&P pistol in an all-metal configuration, the new M&P9 M2.0 METAL.

The METAL is built to the same size and specs as the M&P9 M2.0 that we've all come to love and rely upon ... just all metal. It stands out like a head-banger at a KPop concert with its tungsten gray Cerakote finish. That finish keeps the all-metal construction from glaring in bright light conditions, a boon for target shooters. Constructed with a T6 Aluminum frame, this pistol weighs in at a fairly hefty 30 ounces, so if you intend to conceal it, you'll need a sturdy belt and holster combination. Other than the weight, this striker-fired semi-auto is just as concealable as its polymer siblings with a 4.25-inch barrel and overall length of 7.4 inches.

The METAL is feature-rich with a M2.0 flat face trigger, two 17-round magazines and a slide cut for optics. The M&P9 M2.0 METAL fits any M&P9 compatible holster and accepts any M2.0 17-round 9mm magazine. “Combining the proven performance of the M&P pistol series with the 170-year history of reliable Smith & Wesson metal handguns, the M&P9 M2.0 METAL forges the quality of our past with enhanced modern-day features in an offering that will give an edge to both new and experienced firearms enthusiasts," said Andrew Gore, Handgun Product Manager. MSRP is $899; Smith-Wesson.com
