For years, serious shooters have wished that they could have a Smith & Wesson M&P in the same size as the ever-popular Glock 19...and, with the S&W M&P9 M2.0 3.6-inch handgun, those wishes have been fulfilled (and some!). This 9mm semi-auto takes the M2.0 design a step further, reducing the slide and barrel to cut weight and bulk without sacrificing S&W's famous performance. As American Rifleman's Joe Kurtenbach explains in this video, this newest and smallest addition to the M&P line offers an aggressive texturing on its grip frame that really helps the shooter maintain control of the pistol as it comes out of recoil, so the loss of a few ounces of weight won't make the gun any less pleasant or accurate to shoot. Additionally, there are four different palmswell inserts that allow you to customize the M&P 2.0's grip to your hand, another excellent way to mitigate the effects of felt recoil.

Thankfully, although Smith has reduced the size of this gun, they haven't reduced its carrying capacity. The M&P9 M2.0 offers a 15-round magazine, so you'll have plenty of firepower. (This same model of firearm is also available in .40 S&W and .45 calibers as well!) It's also just as easy to disassemble for cleaning or tweaking, as Kurtenbach demonstrates. Is this the concealed-carry handgun that's perfect for you and your lifestyle? Watch the video and see for yourself!
