Daisy Outdoor Products, America's most famous name in BB guns, air guns and other outdoor equipment, sponsors and runs an incredible youth shooting-sports competition every year known as the Daisy National BB Gun Championship Match (Daisy Nationals). This weekend, June 30 through July 3 in Rogers, Ark., Daisy's pleased to announce that the Nationals are revving up to be even better than before! Youth teams aged 8-15 shoot at 5-meter targets in four positions (standing, kneeling, sitting and prone) and championships are awarded to teams and individuals.

Teams competing in the 2018 Daisy Nationals have qualified in the top three spots at its state NRA-sanctioned match. Here's where the Daisy Nationals stands above other youth-oriented shooting competitions: In addition to marksmanship scores, each competitor completes a written test that covers gun safety and knowledge of the shooting event, and each competitor’s score on the safety test makes up 25 percent of his or her final score.

The Daisy Nationals match is more than a shooting competition; it's also a community event for junior shooters and their families. In addition to the competition, Daisy throws plenty of extras into the mix, like Barter Bar night and the T-Shirt and Painted Gun contests.

Teams in the Daisy Nationals consist of seven members (five competitors and two alternates) and use a muzzle-loaded, single-shot Champion Model 499B BB gun, the most accurate 5-meter competition BB gun in the world. Teams often come from the 4-H Shooting Sports program, but any community, youth or religious organization can create a team too. The Royal Rangers sends multiple teams to the championship each year.
