Is there anything more fun to shoot than a nimble, well-balanced rimfire rifle? If anybody thinks there is, that's probably because they haven't tried out Winchester's new Xpert .22-cal. bolt-action rifle. Don't let the name fool you--this long arm is perfect for newbies and "xperts" alike. In fact, with its included clip-on cheek risers and stock spacers, this rifle is customizable for short-statured shooters as well as those with longer necks and higher cheekbones. (Translation: This rifle will be very comfortable for junior and female shooters!)

With an overall length of 36.5" and an 18" button-rifled barrel, the Xpert is both maneuverable and exceedingly accurate. In addition to the tight tolerances of the barrel, the Xpert also boasts a special trigger. Dubbed the Rimfire M.O.A. design, which is similar to the trigger found on the company’s Model 70 and XPR rifles, its clean break has virtually no overtravel and offers a crisp pull that ensures your sights stay on target as the shot breaks.

The Xpert's performance at the range is what put it over the top as the NRA's Gun of the Week. Noted our American Rifleman testers, "Shooting the Xpert was an absolute joy and reinforced how fun it is to get on the range with an accurate, handy rimfire rifle. One element we particularly enjoyed was the gun’s compatibility with all 10/22 rotary magazines, and there are plenty of ways to get them out of the gun.

You can either pull back on the red tabs at the side or use the centrally located tab at the bottom of the magazine well. The safety, located at the rear of the receiver, was easy to operate and intuitive, and we especially appreciated the large bolt handle that gave us plenty of leverage and room to operate. For an affordable and reliable rimfire rifle, the Winchester Xpert is one of the best options on the market today." For more, visit WinchesterGuns.com!
