This year, just like every year, author and practicing attorney J. Scott Kappas, Esq., has researched legislation and policy changes regarding ownership and transportation of firearms in the United States. His findings have been published in the 2016 edition of “Traveler’s Guide to the Firearms Laws of the Fifty States.” More than 90 law changes are included in this year’s edition—important changes that should be known by serious gun owners. Additionally, the 2016 edition features added sections in vehicle gun possession at K-12 schools and suppressor ownership for each state. Among other regulations covered in the Traveler’s Guide are those dealing with firearms in common modes of transportation such as cars, RVs, boats, planes. Also included are details on the laws regarding concealed handgun carry in state parks, how to carry a handgun if traveling by motorcycle and requirements for active and retired law enforcement personnel. The Guide is broken down state by state in an easy-to-understand Traveler’s checklist with the first few pages are devoted to defining and explaining legal terminology. The back pages of the book include contact information for relevant agencies within each state and a quick reference guide for carry-permit reciprocity and recognition. Visit www.gunlawguide.com or call (859) 491-6400 to place your order. MSRP $14.95.

Important message for those who have received the 2016 edition of “Traveler’s Guide To The Firearms Laws Of The Fifty States” with a flyer marked “IMPORTANT”. The Virginia State Police announced on March 1, 2016, that plans to revoke recognition of permits from 25 states have been canceled. All states listed on page 67 of the 2016 edition will continue to be recognized by the state of Virginia.
