Savage Revel

For decades, Savage Arms has been best known for its highly accurate, well-crafted and budget-friendly bolt-action rifles. But as we've already seen in the last weeks, September 2024 has unofficially become "Savage September" with multiple exciting new releases, including new rifles chambered in 21 Sharp and a new suppressor. That was just a prelude to the real revelation: two new lever-action rifles. Yes, lever guns! Known as the REVEL CLASSIC and REVEL DLX, these two cutting-edge takedown lever-actions have already begun to ship in one caliber, with more caliber choices to come in winter '24 and spring '25.

One of the most interesting things about the new REVEL line is that these are takedown rifles, meaning that you can disassemble them quickly, without tools, to make them easier to pack and transport. For many, that will spell "backpack rifle," although takedown capability is valuable for any use-case. After all, that same takedown capability also makes cleaning and maintenance a snap; you can easily access all of the necessary components.

Shooters will love the REVEL's oversize lever loop, which enables quick and intuitive operation. Early testers describe the cycling as smooth and reliable, with a nice crisp trigger for precise shot placement. The .22 LR model features a tubular magazine that holds 12 rounds; the upcoming .22 WMR and .17 HMR will both be nine-rounders.

All REVEL rifles feature 18" medium-profile carbon-steel barrels, which contribute to the overall versatility and performance of these lever guns. The drilled and tapped receiver allows you to mount optics should you wish. Should you not wish, these rifles come equipped with adjustable iron sights.

The REVEL DLX boasts an upgraded contoured walnut stock with beautiful stippling for superior grip and comfort, whereas the REVEL CLASSIC utilizes a walnut stock with a classic straight grip. The rubber butt pad ensures a comfortable shooting experience, reducing recoil and enhancing overall control.

"Savage Arms proudly introduces the REVEL CLASSIC and REVEL DLX as we expand into another new category for the brand and company," said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. "These firearms combine cutting-edge features with the timeless appeal of a classic lever action rimfire rifle. Fun and convenient, the takedown capabilities mean precision and reliability are as portable and versatile as ever." MSRPs run $439-$539 depending on whether you choose the Classic or DLX models; SavageArms.com
