Bergara has long been a watchword among precision-focused shooters for its bolt-action centerfires ... and now, for 2025, the company is introducing what it promises will be the ultimate rimfire rifle for competitive shooters. Available in two versions--one with a steel barrel and one with a carbon-fiber barrel--both promise excellent ergonomics at the shoulder and outstanding accuracy at the target.

The first rifle in the line, the Bergara BMR-X Carbon, was created specifically for small-game hunters who are looking for portability. Weighing in at a mere 5.7 lbs. unloaded, its 18" carbon-fiber barrel is lightweight, yet durable. An adjustable length-of-pull (LOP) stock, vertical grip, (including a 30 MOA rail) and flat forend deliver unmatched control and customization. Equipped with both a five- and 10-round slim-line magazine, this rifle is available in .22LR, .22 WMR and .17 HMR.

The Bergara BMR-X Steel, on the other hand, boasts all the same features of the Carbon, but with one important difference: a heavy #6 profile steel barrel that brings the gun's weight up to 6.6 lbs. The BMR-X Steel is designed for competitive and target shooting. Because it only needs to be carried from stage to stage, that extra weight doesn't hamper the shooter at all. Instead, it provides stability for steady, consistent shots, making it ideal for rimfire series competitions.

Like the Carbon, the BMR-X Steel has a BXR-inspired stock that gives the shooter an adjustable LOP, a vertical grip and flat forend, providing the same ergonomic feel as Bergara’s full-size precision rifles at a more accessible price. With the reliable Bergara Micro Rimfire action, including a 30 MOA rail, match chamber and externally adjustable Bergara Performance Trigger, the BMR-X Steel is designed to deliver competition-level performance for shooters who demand the best in accuracy and affordability. Also equipped with both a 5 and 10 round slim-line magazine this gun weighs in at 6.6 lbs. This rifle is available in .22LR, .22 WMR and .17 HMR. Prices vary from $719-$819, depending upon model chosen; www.bergarausa.com.
