Burris Fastfire E Lede

Reflex sights--also known as red-dot sights--are a tremendous boon to all shooters, but especially those with aging eyes or other vision issues that can make acquiring a sight picture difficult with traditional sighting systems. For over 20 years, Burris Optics has been among the industry leaders in the world of pistol-mounted red dot sights. For 2025, Burris is expanding its existing FastFire series with the all-new FastFire E--the company’s first fully enclosed emitter reflex sight, designed for not just for pistols, but for shotguns and carbine rifles as well.

Of course, the first thing a shooter will worry about with a battery-powered device is its battery life, and that's where the FastFire E shines (so to speak). Its 3.5-MOA "always on" aiming dot is powered by an impressive 60,000-hour battery life (no, that's not a typo). Powered by a single CR2032 lithium battery, the FastFire E features a side-mounted battery compartment, so on the rare occasions that you'll have to change the battery, you won't risk losing your zero.

The next question a shooter may have is the size of the viewing window, because the larger it is, the easier it is for a shooter to find that dot. The FastFire E's large, class-leading 22x17mm window offers 1X magnification and an expansive sight picture ... which promotes both-eyes-open shooting, enhancing speed, accuracy and situational awareness.

One of the coolest aspects of the FastFire E is its selection of eight red dot illumination settings and two night vision settings. It's available with either a red or green aiming dot, making it an excellent choice for hunters and self-defenders alike. It's fully adjustable for windage and elevation, offering a 100-MOA adjustment range for precise point-of-aim/point-of-impact alignment. This flexibility ensures compatibility with a wide range of firearm platforms, including handguns and long guns, making it a versatile optic for various ballistic profiles.

The FastFire E is built to be used and abused, with an ultra-rugged, monolithic machined aluminum housing, waterproof, shockproof and fogproof closed emitter construction. This helps protect the emitter from environmental hazards like snow and mud. Aspherical lenses ensure a clear, distortion-free view by minimizing glare and enhancing target visibility in a variety of lighting conditions.

As far as mounting, the FastFire E utilizes the popular and rugged Aimpoint ACRO footprint, which provides compatibility with aftermarket mounting plates and dedicated slide cuts. Installation is easy, thanks to the included T10 tool that clamps the optic firmly over an ACRO rail. Additional features include automatic brightness reset, brightness lock and a button lockout function to prevent accidental adjustments to the red-dot illumination. These functions ensure optimal brightness settings are maintained, no matter the environment. MSRP $420; BurrisOptics.com
