Lookin' sharp! Smith & Wesson's new M&P15 AXE series AR-15-pattern rifles just launched. Composed of four models, all of which are chambered in 5.56 NATO, are purpose-built with modern features. Created for shooting with suppressors (also called silencers), the new M&P15 AXE rifles are reliable, durable, and change the game when it comes to suppressed shooting. For this new line, S&W recruited industry leaders for some of the most high-end components you'll find on a factory rifle.
What do we mean by industry-leading, top-quality components? Each rifle boasts a Radian Raptor charging handle, Williams folding sights, and an M&P grip that ships with four interchangeable backstraps. Each AXE rifle also includes a Gemtech’s ETM Flash hider installed on the muzzle. One of the four models, the Performance Center Axe rifle, includes an ambidextrous Radian safety selector, a Magpul DT Carbine stock, a HIPEFIRE Enhanced Duty Trigger, and a sleek Comp Gray Cerakote finish.
All four models share a 7075 T6 Aluminum upper and lower receiver, ambidextrous controls for right- or left-handed users, The bolt carrier group for these rifles is designed with a Carpenter 1580 steel bolt, 8620 steel carrier, and chromed firing pin for dependable ignition. The three all-black, Armornite finished models, ship with a Magpul CTR adjustable carbine stock, a Midwest Industries Combat M-LOK free-float handguard, and come available in 16.1", 14.5", and 11.5" barrel configurations.
