The 2022 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show didn't just bring us a cavalcade of optics, guns and ammo; we also learned of some terrific innovations in gear that can help you turn your Back 40 into an all-day clay game. New for 2022 is the Champion FreedomBird Auto-Feed Trap Thrower, perfect for casual and serious shotgunners alike. With its ultra-fast, less than one-second cycle time, shooters can create a flurry style of targets with either standard or midi clays (using the included midi clay adapter).

With a 50-clay stack magazine capacity, the FreedomBird can keep up with its own rapid fire. Shooters can adjust throwing angles (10-50 degrees) as well as distance (70-90 yards) with the main spring tension adjustment so a variety of more challenging shots can be practiced. Shooters can practice solo or with companions thanks to the included wireless remote and foot pedal. The thrower also comes with a newly designed custom cart making it easier than ever to tote the battery. The FreedomBird also features a patented spring adjustment built into the handle.

The FreedomBird is also extremely portable due to its integrated wheels and manageable 62-pound weight. Tow it to and from the back yard or easily haul it to the range in the back of a pickup truck.

“We packed as many consumer requests as possible into the new FreedomBird,” said Laurie Kokoruda, senior product manager for Champion. “The trap is designed to complement to any backyard range and with its ability to throw both standard and midi clays plus custom cart and patented spring tension adjustment, the FreedomBird offers commercial grade quality and speed.” MSRP $999.99: championtarget.com.
