Mossy Oak's Overwatch is the official camouflage of the NRA, but the company itself has recently become an unofficial hero to hungry Georgia families that have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. In yet another demonstration of how the outdoors industry is reaching out to help our communities and first responders, Mossy Oak recently premiered “Sticks & Strings: Live From the Country” on its free streaming app, Mossy Oak GO. The response was tremendous, and the result is over 13,000 meals for Georgians.

Starring Grammy-nominated country musician Brent Cobb, the episode was produced with an intent to raise money for Second Harvest of South Georgia, which is the leading hunger-relief organization in the region and the second-largest food bank in the state. Serving a nearly 12,00-square-mile region made up of 26 counties, they serve more than 400 partner agencies through a variety of programs including the Food Bank, Kids Cafe, Mobile Food Pantry and Teachers’ Harvest.

Cobb is no stranger to offering comfort in troubled times; he just released a stand-alone track called “The World Is Ending” that he wrote in 2011 just before the Mayan calendar ran out that resonates with the pandemic that began unfolding eight years later. In the premier episode of “Sticks & Strings: Live From the Country,” Cobb performed an hour-long acoustic session that was streamed live to thousands of viewers. The show started on Thursday, April 30th at 7:00 PM, but if you'd like to view it now it's available for free Mossy Oak GO.

Wish you'd been there to listen live? The Mossy Oak GO app is available for download on Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, App Store and Google Play.
