Outside the front doors of the Nashville Music City Center, where the 2015 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits are taking place, the NRA Freedom Festival is in full swing. With dozens of vendors, live music and interactive displays, there's so much to see and do that you might want to stay out in the beautiful weather all day. With the slogan "Takin' It To The Streets," the festival is packing in visitors. One display that's hard to miss is a giant, bright-red inflatable structure emblazoned with the logo for Daisy Outdoor Products. Based on the number of fascinated kids flowing in and out of it--and on its appearance--you could be forgiven for mistaking it for a bouncy castle, but it's not: This is Daisy's Mobile BB Gun Range.
It may sound counterintuitive, but this inflatable BB gun range is perfectly capable of withstanding BBs sent downrange, and doing so in a safe and fun manner. It's all part of Daisy's mission to introduce the shooting sports to the next generation. "This year, we were invited to set up our inflatable range to help teach thousands of visitors to shoot BB guns," smiles Daisy's Joe Murfin. "That's what Daisy's been all about for the last 129 years." Many Americans' first gun was a Daisy, continues Murfin. "So how fitting is it that we're here, in front of the show doors, and we're figuratively opening the doors to the shooting sports?"
"The next generation is going to be the one to protect the Second Amendment," says Murfin. "The difference as to whether or not they will is going to be made by whether they're passionately interested in doing so." It's pretty clear that Daisy's commitment to making sure kids learn that passion for gun rights has led them to "take it to the streets."
