Two new books from the trio of Silvio Calabi, Steve Helsley and Robert Sanger provide a roadmap for juniors who are just starting out in shooting: "The Gun Book for Boys" and "The Gun Book for Parents." (A third title, "The Gun Book for Girls," is due out this autumn.) From deciphering the lingo with an understandable glossary of terms, to proper usage and safety, to the types of firearms for hunting, competition or plinking-these thoroughly illustrated and comprehensive titles, designed for kids aged 12 to 16 and their parents, help guide the way. Topics in "The Gun Book for Boys" include “Safety First," “You'll Put Your Eye Out," “Keeping Guns Clean & Safe" and “Reloading Ammunition." There's even a section on careers that involve guns. Overall, these books will provide a welcome resource to families with little or no previous experience in the shooting sports. Available at www.shootingsportsman.com.
