Winchester is one of America's oldest and most popular ammunition manufacturers, and the .22 LR is its best-seller by a long shot (pun intended). Winchester plans to continue the .22 LR for the foreseeable future, but that doesn't mean that the company can't use it as a platform to launch something new.
That something new is called .21 Sharp, and you can think of it as the .22 LR's brilliant little brother. Boasting accuracy and velocities that outstrip the .22, the .21 Sharp also allows for lead-free manufacture. American Rifleman's Kelly Young visited Winchester's plant in Oxford, Mississippi to get the inside scoop on this newest member of the Winchester family, and why shooters should be so intrigued.
