It all started in 1960 with a Savage Model 110 L in .243 Winchester. For Howie Steinbeck, it wasn't just a rifle, it was a hunting buddy, a trusted sidekick, and a vessel for a lifetime of memories. It served as the catalyst for a family tradition of hunting, which turned into a passion for wildlife management at the Steinbeck Vineyards & Winery. Today, Howie's grandson Ryan has successfully connected wildlife management, the vineyard, and hunting in a way to start conversations and engage with visitors about hunting, conservation, and sustainable practices. This is HUNTING THE VINES, a story of how deep the roots of hunting and conservation run across generations.
