Nra Recruiting Program Lede

Last year, NRA-Certified Instructors taught nearly a quarter of a million people how to use firearms safely and skillfully. Less than one percent of those people went on to become NRA members.

NRA-Certified Instructors are often the first (and potentially only) point of contact the public has with the NRA. By the time a student finishes a class, they have not only been thoroughly trained in the use of firearms, but also gotten to know an NRA representative personally. This puts instructors in an ideal position to illustrate how students can benefit from NRA membership via 24/7 defense of their gun rights, monthly magazines, voting rights for the NRA Board of Directors and special offers from our partners.

Training students in the safe, responsible use of firearms is an extraordinarily important function. Encouraging them to join the NRA not only helps ensure their (and your) Second Amendment rights, but also allows them to develop and enjoy the skills you have taught them.

While recruiting new members has obvious benefits for NRA, our unique Instructor-Recruiter Program makes it worthwhile for you, too. In this program, instructors receive (on average) a $10 commission for every new member they recruit and $5 for every member they renew, with potential to earn up to $25 per member.

Our most successful recruiters find that working the price of an NRA Associate membership into their course fees not only helps NRA but also increases the return they make on the class as well. At only $10, the Associate membership provides all of the same benefits as a regular membership without the monthly magazine or voting privileges. The best part is recruiters still receive a $5 commission on each new Associate membership sold.

Many participating instructors have indicated that they are not interested in receiving the commissions and would rather turn the money back to the NRA. We certainly appreciate this wonderful show of support, but we would still like to reward you for your hard work and perseverance. We encourage all recruiters to take a commission ... that way they can use that commission to offer even deeper discounts for members who otherwise would not join.

Finally, Recruiting is always getting exciting new gift items for our top instructors to have in their class to give directly to their students, whether it's knives, hats, shirts or a variety of other items, we would love to get them to our top recruiters--so please reach out and see if there are any new items since you taught your last course!
