As one of the original 13 American colonies, South Carolina traditions have roots that are centuries long. That's how a huge event that's been going on for three years now gets to be called a "new" tradition. The year 2024 will mark the fourth “The Gathering” Firearm Range Day and Expo presented by Palmetto State Armory, and it's set to take place on Friday, March 22nd and Saturday March 23rd in Clinton, South Carolina at the Clinton House Plantation. (The video above is, of course, from last year's event.)

The Gathering brings together the firearms community, media and public to showcase new firearms, gear and techniques. With over 50 of your favorite manufacturers and vendors like Silencer Central, Glock, SIG Sauer, and more, you'll have the opportunity to see and shoot the guns you've been reading about here

The event will take place at the Clinton House Plantation, a 2000-acre facility that houses 17 live-fire shooting bays, two clay courses, world-class hunting land, a 1000-yard range and a one-mile range. As for that one-mile range, there's a special shooting event that runs both days of the Gathering.

The Barrett 1 Mile Challenge will be running all weekend throughout the Gathering. For $10, participants will have one shot to hit the mile target. Participants who hit the mile target will receive a challenge coin to prove it. Barrett will have one of their firearms set up to shoot the challenge, so all participants will have to do is show up and enjoy. Tickets can be purchased in advance through EVENTBRITE, or can be purchased on site at the registration table. All proceeds from the Barrett 1 Mile Challenge will be donated to Laurens County SWAT.
