The MidwayUSA Foundation has been supporting the next generation of America's responsible gun owners for decades, and 2021 is shaping up to be a banner year. We've just learned that 746 youth shooting teams across the U.S. just received their annual cash grants from the Foundation...to the tune of over $3.1 million! This grant cycle had an average payout per team of $4,172, and the grants benefit approximately 32,000 youth shooters. These funds assist shooting teams with expenses such as ammunition, targets, travel, entry fees, team gear, and more.

Each shooting team's grant is 5 percent of their MidwayUSA Foundation Team Endowment balance, so as a team's endowment grows, so does their annual cash grant. The Foundation offers various resources to help shooting teams increase their endowment.

In addition to cash grants, teams are eligible to receive product grants to conduct fundraisers. Teams choose the product, host a fundraiser in their community, and proceeds donated to their endowment are matched. Every team can also receive tax-deductible donations right through the Foundation's website, which are also matched.

The year 2021 brings some more awesome news for youth shooting. MidwayUSA Foundation's Matching Program, which is funded by MidwayUSA owners Larry and Brenda Potterfield, has bold plans for the coming year. Last year, the Foundation provided $150,000 each month to match team donations. In 2021, that goal is $160,000, each month, to match donations to team endowments. And, just like last year, the months of April and September will have increased matching ($200,000) in coordination with Online Donation Drives. Online Donation Drives will also offer additional endowment dollars to shooting teams that participate.

The Foundation's Executive Director, G. Scott Reynolds, stated. "Our cash grants are critical funds for youth shooting teams. The recently awarded teams reported spending over $18 million on expenses last year, with ammunition, entry fees, targets, and travel being the bulk of those expenses. Assisting with these costs could provide the opportunity for more athletes to participate in shooting sports where they'll learn leadership skills, confidence, and discipline that will benefit them throughout their lives."
