Crossbreed Holsters has created a secure and versatile outside-the-waistband (OWB) for those who carry a concealed handgun under a cover garment, or for those who prefer to openly carry: the SnapSlide OWB Holster. There are lots of reasons why an OWB holster might work best for you as an armed citizen; first, OWB holsters do tend to offer more comfort to users because the holster/firearm isn't resting directly on your body. Second, a design like the Crossbreed SnapSlide's allows you to quickly, safely and easily move your holstered firearm into different positions around your belt. In this video, part of American Rifleman's Gun Gear of the Week series, Joe Kurtenbach walks you through the various reasons the SnapSlide might just be the CCW/Open Carry solution for you.

However, the versatility of the SnapSlide goes far beyond the ability to adjust it on your belt. As you've come to expect from Crossbreed, the SnapSlide features top-quality leather backing and a secure Kydex "pocket" for the gun. What makes this a bit different is that these holsters, which are custom fit for various "families" of firearms, can be used for multiple different guns within that "family." It has an open bottom design, so the muzzle length of the gun can change without affecting the SnapSlide's ability to keep it securely retained.

Best of all, this offering from Crossbreed comes in at a modest $50 or so, meaning it's a great first step for those who are just entering the world of on-body carry. But even with its more budget-friendly products, such as the SnapSlide, Crossbreed offers a two-week trial period. If the holster just doesn't work with your gun and body, you can return it for a refund or exchange.
