When Lyman Products announced the release of their 50th Edition Reloading Handbook last year, reloaders worldwide were excited to hear the good news—and for good reason: The Handbook has served as a trusted resource for loading techniques and recipes for over a century. But Lyman Products decided to take it one step further and give back to the shooting and hunting community by pledging a donation to the NRA based on the sales of the book. At the 2016 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, Lyman's Rick Ranziger presented a $25,000 check to NRA that represented what they hoped would be a $1 donation for each copy of the book sold until the same time in 2017.

By the time of the 2017 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, held in Atlanta, the good news had been getting better and better. As it turns out, the book outdid Lyman's expectations by over 21,000 copies. True to their word, Lyman offered a new donation to NRA, which was presented by Tom Griffin, the book's editor, to NRA President Pete Brownell at the Annual Meetings. This represents a total of $46,000 over the last two years!
