When Springfield Armory released their first XD-S Mod.2 .45-caliber handgun earlier this year, the first thing shooters said was "yay," followed immediately by "So, when will you have this in 9mm?" As it turns out, the answer is "right now." Our friends at Springfield recently stopped by NRA Headquarters to talk about this extremely reliable, well-engineered and easy-to-shoot handgun chambered in one of America's favorite self-defense calibers. In this video, Springfield Armory pro shooter Rob Leatham and American Rifleman editor in chief Mark Keefe discuss all of the cool features on this workhorse of a handgun.

What's more, we've heard other news about the XD-S Mod.2 9mm pistol: Together with a number of other sponsors, Springfield is offering a giveaway that includes 25 XD-S Mod.2 9mm handguns which is running through August 25, 2018. Called the 25 Days of Concealed Carry Giveaways, the giveaway celebrates the 25,000 rounds the venerable manufacturer put through their new pistol without a single failure by giving away one of these hot new concealed-carry-ready pistols every day.
