Last year, we dubbed September 2024 "Savage September," with a wealth of surprising new offerings. Chief among them is Savage Arms' Revel, a rimfire lever-action gun, which was a break from previous decades of bolt-action supremacy. As you'd expect from Savage, the Revel line is much more than "just another lever gun." These are takedown rifles, meaning that you can disassemble them quickly, without tools, to make them easier to pack and transport.
Now, our friends at American Rifleman have had a chance to hit the range with the revolutionary Revel, a wood-stocked, lever-action rifle chambered for .22 Long Rifle. The gun we have on the range is the Revel Classic, although there's a deluxe model called the DLX that's definitely worth a look! With traditionally configured furniture made from Turkish walnut with a classic straight grip, the straight stock is mated to an aluminum trigger housing that is secured to the aluminum receiver body via two captured takedown pins. This configuration allows the rifle to be separated into two components for easy, compact storage and transport. Want to know more? Visit SavageArms.com!
