Video Review: Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle

Although the Ruger Scout rifle has been around for quite some time, Ruger's latest innovation to the platform comes in the form of the Ruger Gunsite Scout. This small, lightweight bolt-action rifle stays true to Gunsite founder Jeff Cooper's vision of what a rifle should be while making it far more pleasant to shoot. Chambered in .223 Rem./5.56 NATO, this nimble little carbine not only shoots a much less punishing round than the original .308, it's also slightly heavier...which absorbs recoil. With spacer pads for the buttstock and ergonomic but hardy iron sights, this soft-shooting version of the Scout is sure to be a hit with everyone in the family, regardless of stature. Watch this video review as American Rifleman's Brian Sheetz walks you through everything you'll want to know about the Gunsite Scout.
