On August 12, Olympic shooter Kim Rhode made history in Rio when she garnered a bronze medal in Women's Skeet. The bronze was her sixth consecutive Olympic medal—making her the first woman in history to medal in six consecutive summer Olympic games. Rhode, a true role model for up-and-coming shooters of both sexes, is also a columnist for NRA Family, and has a passion for passing on the lessons of firearms safety and the fun of the shooting sports on to the next generation.

Before heading to Rio, Rhode said in an interview with Kevin Neuendorf of USA Shooting“Legacy is such a big word. It’s about passing on what you love to the generations behind you. It’s about making sure my son and other people’s kids will be able to enjoy this sport and to enjoy the outdoors. I’m hoping that’s what my legacy will be. You should be giving of your time. You should want to give back. What am I going to do with a shiny new medal when I’m 80. When I’m dead and gone, people aren’t going to have the same impression of this sport or me if I don’t give them something to experience. I realize the importance of what I’m doing for my sport.”

Of course, although we can all share in Rhode's love of the shooting sports, we can't all be Olympic medalists. That's why Rhode's sponsor, Winchester Ammunition, is making it possible for you to own a piece of Olympic history with special commemorative boxes of AA target loads. These boxes, sure to become collector's items, will be available at Winchester retailers.

Winchester Ammunition has enjoyed a long-time connection with Rhode and the USA Shooting team as the exclusive shotshell sponsor and supplier since 1999. “We all owe a great deal of our success to Winchester and their AAs," said Rhode. "They’ve helped us practice, train and compete with the confidence we need just knowing we’re shooting the best product out there.” Continued Rhode, “We’re very proud to have the Winchester name behind our team and are very thankful to have those legendary AA shotshells in our shooting vests.”
