Reflex optics--also called red-dot optics--are a terrific way to boost your ability to make quality aimed shots, even under stress. And quality aimed shots under stress is what we call the prime directive of self-defense. Reflex optics make aiming, well, reflexive (hence the name). Those with aging eyesight, new shooters and experienced shooters who want that extra assurance are all driving a massive trend in concealed carry. More and more pistols are now being sold either with a reflex optic already installed, or with a base plate that allows you to install one yourself.

However, if you've decided to make use of a red-dot aiming device, the installation is really just the first step. Next, you need to sight-in, in much the same way you need to sight-in a rifle. In this great brief video, Shooting Illustrated's Kevin Creighton shows you how to take the guesswork out of reflex sights ... it won't take you much longer to do than it will to watch the video, either!
