If you have a teenager 14 or older who is a registered Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) athlete, you should definitely check out the 2017 Junior Olympic Development Camp this August! This summer camp for junior clay target shooters will take place this year August 9 through 13 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It's not just any summer camp; this camp takes place at the Olympic Training Center and USA Shooting's International Shotgun Range at Fort Carson.

It's no coincidence that the camp takes place on the training grounds for America's Olympic shooting athletes, because this camp is part of the effort to assist U.S.A. Shooting in its pursuit of identifying SCTP Athletes who have the potential to become U.S.A. Shooting Team members and, ultimately, Olympic champions. Of course, even those shooters who don't have their eyes on the Olympics will reap benefits that will last a lifetime. The cost for athletes is $650 and includes lodging, training, range fees, ammunition, and transportation to and from the Colorado Springs airport and training events. The deadline for receiving all completed application packages is May 25th, 2017.

The camp isn't just for athletes who are interested in honing their skills and having fun: Those SCTP Coaches and State Advisors who wish to become more effective in working with SCTP athletes will benefit as well. The camp for coaches is August 7 through 13.

Interested coaches and athletes must apply and be selected for the camp. SCTP will be accepting up to 24 athletes and up to 10 coaches for the camp.

For complete camp details, please review the information sheet and application forms on the SCTP Forms and Handbook section at www.sssfonline.org
