A trend that's become increasingly evident at the 2017 SHOT Show is that consumer desire for revolvers continues to rise, and Ruger's GP100 in 44 Special is concrete proof. There are many potential reasons for this; revolvers are reliable and intuitive to use even in stressful situations, and their design makes them easy to clean. Large-caliber revolvers are a popular choice for self-defense in bear country, as well as for home defense. American Rifleman's Joe Kurtenbach stopped by the Ruger booth at the SHOT Show Media Day at the Range to give it—if you'll forgive the pun—a spin. (Please note that due to windy conditions beyond our control, you'll want to turn up your volume.)
