As  he has done for years, author J. Scott Kappas, Esq., has researched legislation and policy changes regarding the ownership and transportation of firearms in the United States, and has published his findings in the 2012 edition of “Traveler’s Guide to the Firearms Laws of the Fifty States.” More than 85 changes are included in the new edition—laws you need to know if you take your self-defense seriously and travel.

Among the regulations covered are those dealing with firearms in common modes of transportation, including cars, RVs, ships and even planes. Also included are details on laws regarding state parks, how to carry a handgun if you’re traveling by motorcycle and requirements for active and retired law enforcement personnel. Details are provided by state and in terms of interstate transportation within the 8½x11-inch paperback volume. The back pages of the book also include resources such as contact information for relevant agencies within each state, as well as a quick reference guide for carry-permit reciprocity and recognition.
