Here at NRA Family, we talk a lot about the fundamentals of shooting: hold control, trigger control, and more. These are all hand-eye coordination skills, but there is a little more to the story. It's easy to understand why a balanced stance is important when shooting long guons, but it's also important when you're shooting handguns, too. Yes, it's true that the recoil from a 9mm is unlikely to knock you off-balance, but it's also true that your shots will aim truer when you're in a comfortable, balanced body position.
In this great video from our friends at Shooting Illustrated, you'll learn a simple drill created by celebrated instructor Tatiana Whitlock that aims (pun intended) to help you find your best shooting stance. This one isn't about accuracy per se, but about finding the body position that is most effective for you ... the idea being that accuracy will then follow.
