The key to good wildlife conservation is good science. The key to good science is good data collection. The key to good data collection, when it comes to turkeys, is leg banding. And finally, the key to leg-banding turkeys is the ability to wrangle wiggling, spurring, pecking birds that most emphatically do not wish to be wrangled.

So, how do conservation-based organizations like the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) help find all of those keys? As this great video demonstrates, it starts with partnering with state-based institutions of higher learning ... and it ends with 12 lbs. of very annoyed wattles. This Fun Friday, our friends at the NWTF have offered a video that's one part education, and one part sheer "how did they manage THAT?"
