The heart of the Boundary is the Model 2020 action, precision manufactured from premium materials. It features dual locking lugs on a fluted bolt that runs smoothly down EDM raceways for perfect, repeatable engagement. In addition, the Boundary’s TriggerTech Field trigger — adjustable from 2.5 to 5 lbs.— boasts a low-profile, non-snag safety and uses what Springfield refers to as "Frictionless Release Technology" for a smooth pull.
The Boundary is available with either a BSF carbon fiber or a traditional fluted stainless steel barrel. The BSF barrel of the Model 2020 Boundary is jacketed in a roll-wrapped carbon fiber sleeve and loaded under tension, meaning 95 percent of the carbon fiber sleeve doesn’t contact the barrel. The rifle — offered in short- and long-action configurations — is available in .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, .300 PRC, .300 Win. Mag., 7mm Rem. Mag. or 7mm PRC.
