All-New 2022: Ruger Wrangler Birdshead Revolver

All that's old is new again as this classic single-action American style gets an update.

America's Old West was tamed with single-action revolvers, and there will always be a place in our hearts for this classic platform ... but that place in our hearts can also be right between our hands, if Ruger's innovations for 2022 are anything to go by. In this terrific video from American Rifleman TV's Evan Brune, you'll get to see how even a birdshead revolver can be all-new for 2022 (and in .22, no less).

Ruger's Wrangler birdshead revolvers boast the beauty of classic wheelguns but center modern safety features, such as the loading gate on the right side of the recoil shield. When the user opens this gate, it locks the gun's mechanism, so it's not possible to cock the gun or pull the trigger. For added safety, the revolver is equipped with a transfer-bar mechanism, which means you can load all six rounds in the cylinder and not worry about bumping the hammer on a live round.

Chambered in .22LR, Ruger's Wrangler birdshead models are available in one of three Cerakote finishes: black, silver and burnt bronze. MSRP $279; Ruger.com.
