For a while there, lever-gun fans had reason to worry that Marlin may have dived into the deep water for one last time. However, in the wake of the sounding Marlin, the engineering team at Ruger threw out a life preserver and rescued the brand. Now back in production, the classic Model 1895 has been updated with a few modern touches. This old-school trophy of a rifle is back and our testers at American Rifleman think the Marlin comeback story is no "fish tale."

In this video review from American Rifleman, Evan Brune walks you through the interesting points of note on this revived Marlin Model 1895. "...with a 19” barrel made of 410-grade stainless steel," he notes, "Marlin’s 1895 comes chambered for the .45-70 Government cartridge, each gun is equipped with a 1:20” Right-Hand twist, cold hammer-forged barrel," continues Brune. "The forged barrel-making and rifling process leaves users with high-quality design that is capable of producing incredible accuracy."
