When Ruger sets out to make a bolt-action rifle to rely on when the chips are down, they don't kid around...and the Guide Gun is no exception. A "guide gun" is essentially the firearm that a hunting guide or professional hunter will carry as a back-up, just in case their client's shot misses or isn't effective. It's a gun that has to be 100 percent reliable 100 percent of the time, because its primary purpose is to drop a wounded or charging big-game animal in its tracks after all else has failed. In this video segment, American Hunter's Adam Heggenstaller walks you through Ruger's new purpose-built bolt-action rifle suitable for every type of big or dangerous game you can imagine (and maybe some you can't).
