The Colt's Manufacturing Detective Special Revolver was in continuous production from 1927 through the 1990s, establishing itself as one of the most easily recognizable guns in circulation. For a time, it seemed that no film noir worth its weight in world-weary gumshoes was without a Detective Special Revolver (or two). In this video, American Rifleman's Mark Keefe walks you through the fascinating history of one of the world's most famous firearms.
